What is Setapp?
Setapp is a subscription service that gives you access to 240+ Mac and iOS apps for one monthly fee. Elephas is proud to be part of the Setapp family, making our AI-powered knowledge assistant available to Setapp subscribers.

How do I get started with Elephas through Setapp?
- Open the Setapp app on your Mac
- Search for Elephas in the search bar
- Click Install to download Elephas
- Launch Elephas from your Applications folder or Setapp
- The app will automatically activate with your Setapp subscription
Can I upgrade to Pro or Pro+ plans?
Yes! If you need additional features like:
- Multi-device support (iPhone/iPad)
- Advanced integrations (Notion, Obsidian, Apple Notes)
- Video/Audio file processing
- Higher Credits limits
You can upgrade directly through Elephas:

- Choose your preferred plan (Pro or Pro+)
- Complete the upgrade process
Note: Upgrading will create a separate Elephas subscription outside of Setapp. You may want to remove Elephas from your Setapp collection to avoid confusion. All your existing data will be presered.
What happens to my data if I cancel Setapp?
Your Super Brain data and settings are stored locally on your Mac. If you cancel Setapp:
- Your data remains on your device
- You can continue using Elephas with a direct subscription
- Simply purchase a plan from our website to maintain access
- All your Super Brains and knowledge bases will remain intact
I'm having activation issues
If Elephas isn't activating properly through Setapp:
- Ensure Setapp is running - Elephas needs Setapp to be open for license validation
- Check your Setapp subscription - Make sure your Setapp subscription is active
- Reinstall Elephas:
- Quit Elephas completely
- Remove it from Setapp
- Restart your Mac
- Reinstall Elephas from Setapp
- Reset Setapp permissions:
- Open Setapp preferences
- Go to the "Account" tab
- Click "Reset Setapp"

What happens if I run out of Credits?
If you exceed your monthly Credits limit:
- You can wait for the monthly reset
- Or upgrade to Pro/Pro+ for higher limits
- Credits usage can be monitored in Elephas preferences
Using Elephas on Multiple Devices
The Setapp plan includes access to 1 macOS device only.
To use Elephas on:
- Additional Macs
- iPhone or iPad
- Multiple devices simultaneously
You'll need to upgrade to our Pro plan (up to 3 devices) or Pro+ plan (unlimited devices).
Can I use Elephas offline with Setapp?
Yes. Elephas does offline LLMs with your Setapp subscription.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Elephas won't launch
- Ensure Setapp is installed and running

Super Brain not indexing files
