  • Video files
  • YouTube videos

  • Images
  • Text files
  • Markdown files

How does it work?

Super Brain is highly optimized for cost savings. One of our users uploaded a 1,700-page PDF document, and it cost him 40 cents to do so.

Elephas indexes the uploaded file locally while using OpenAI to generate embeddings. This is done only once, when you upload the files.

From then on, the local data is referred to using a suitable algorithm and used in conjunction with OpenAI whenever you use the brain.

Snippets work with all popular languages.

Use cases

You can use it to -

  • Reply to your emails
  • Reply to you social media posts
  • Write documents and social media posts
  • Chat with your data - ask it questions, use it for brainstorming, for creating content. It’s like ChatGPT for your personal data.
  • Audio files and transcriptions. You can upload audio files from your Zoom meetings, or your voice notes, or even your favorite podcast notes into a brain and then use it for brainstorming, chatting and creating content.

How to use it?

Super brain is used in 4 places -

1. Super Chat

With Super Chat, you can pick the brain you want to chat with and start asking it questions. When Elephas answers questions, it also cites and references the various sources it is using to provide you answers.

So you always know which part of your brain is being used to answer your questions.

2. Share Brain

You can share your brain with your friends and followers. You can create a brain around a specific topic, click the share button, and share the brain URL with your colleagues, friends or followers.

Once they click the link and open it via Elephas on their Mac, your brain will become available to them for access.

They can now chat with the brain, ask it questions, brainstorm with it, and create content with it.

But they will not be able to modify the brain. Only you will be able to add or remove files from the brain because you are it’s creator.

Whenever you want, you can click the “Stop sharing” button and remove access to the brain.

This way you have full control over who can access your brain.

3. Snippets

You can set up snippets that use a particular super brain.

So every time you invoke a snippet, it will reference an existing brain that you have created before.

4. Smart Reply

When you want to reply to email or social media posts using the “Smart Reply” feature, you can now choose the brain to use.

You can even set up a snippet that uses a brain to reply to emails. So if you get a lot of questions about a topic, you can create a brain about it, and use smart reply to answer all the questions. Here’s what it looks like -

FAQs

How many brains I can create?

You can create as many brains you want. The cost will not be impacted if you put all documents in a single brain or maintain multiple brains. As Elephas relies heavily on local computation.

How long does it take to create a brain?

It depends on the size of the files and documents that you add to a brain. If the files are big then it can take upto a few minutes. But if the files are small, then a brain can be created within seconds.

What type of files can add to the brain?

You can add PDFs, Doc files, web pages. You can also include Notion documents, Obsidian vaults and Roam databases. Here’s a quick guide on how you can make a second brain using your Obsidian vault.

Can I remove files from a brain?

Yes, you can choose the delete any files from a brain whenever you want. You can just have to select that file, right click, and choose the “delete” option.

Can files get duplicated in a brain?

No. Everytime you add a file, we compare it to existing files and URL in a brain. If the file already exists then new content is not added to the brain.

Can I choose which Open AI/Chat GPT model is used for Super Brain?

Yes. Within Super Chat, you have the option to choose which Open AI model you use to chat with a particular brain. It can be GPT-3, GPT-3.5 Turbo or GPT-4, or any other GPT model that we support in the future.

Can I really create a “Second Brain” with Elephas Super Brain?

Yes, totally. We actually created an entire Second Brain using Tiago Forte’s CODE method in Elephas. CODE stands for Capture, Organize, Distill, Express.

You can all of it and more with Elephas Super Brain. Here’s a detailed guide on how to do it -
