Elephas Preferences Overview

How to Access Preferences
You can open Preferences in three quick ways:
From the Status Menu
- Click the Elephas icon on your Mac menu bar.
- Choose Preferences (⌘ + ,).
Using Super Command
- Press ⌘ + Space to open Super Command.
- Type “Preferences” to view all sections.
- Click Open Window next to any section to go directly there.
Super Command shows every available Preferences tab — the fastest way to navigate settings.
From the Elephas Window
- Open Elephas → Click the ⚙️ Settings icon or press (⌘ + ,).
Each section controls different aspects of how Elephas behaves and integrates with your workflow.
Section Breakdown
General
Control how Elephas behaves on startup and appearance in macOS.
- Launch at Startup – Automatically start Elephas when you log in.
- Dock Icon – Show or hide Elephas from the Dock.
- Floater Icon – Enable a quick-access floating icon for text selection.
- Open Elephas Window – Launch Super Brain window on start.
- Store Brain in iCloud – Sync your Super Brain data across devices.
- Diff Viewer – Set how long the difference viewer appears.
- Hide Writing Features from Status Menu – Hide quick actions like Smart Write, Grammar Fix, and Translate.
- Agentic Mode by Default – Automatically enable Agentic Mode for AI actions.
Appearance
Customize how Elephas looks on your Mac.
- Theme – Choose Light, Dark, or System mode.
- Background Effect – Pick between Solid or Transparent style.
Match Elephas to your workspace aesthetic.
AI Providers
Connect your preferred AI engines.
- Add or switch between providers such as Elephas, OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Groq, Azure and more.
- Enter your own API keys for custom models.
Offline AI
Run Elephas completely offline for 100% privacy.
- Download and use local AI models directly on your Mac.
- Ideal for sensitive work that should stay offline.
- Works seamlessly with Super Brain and Super Chat.
Model Settings
Set your default AI model across all features.
- Choose from connected AI providers.

License

- Create custom snippets to write, summarize, or generate content instantly.
- Assign keyboard shortcuts for quick access.
- Use snippets to reply to emails faster with prebuilt or custom AI responses.
- Combine with tones to match your writing style perfectly.
Audio
Work with audio files directly in Elephas.
- Upload voice notes or audio files.

Privacy

Send Anonymized Events
